Workshop at the Cultural Center in Idlib as Part of Global Entrepreneurship Week Activities
In recent years, Idlib city has witnessed increasing efforts to support entrepreneurship and empower youth, especially given the difficult economic conditions and high unemployment rates. One of the most prominent of these efforts was Idlib’s participation in Global Entrepreneurship Week, an annual event held in dozens of countries worldwide to support innovation and start-ups.
Idlib Among the Cities of Global Entrepreneurship Week
According to an official post on the Startup Syria page, Idlib was among the Syrian cities that hosted activities during Global Entrepreneurship Week. Interactive events were organized that brought together entrepreneurs, students, and young people interested in developing their ideas and turning them into feasible projects.
These activities aim to create a nurturing environment for entrepreneurial ideas, promote a culture of self-employment and individual initiatives, especially in communities with limited traditional employment opportunities.
Startup Syria confirmed Idlib’s participation in this event, as outlined in the Global Entrepreneurship Week Syria 2025 agenda, published on the official website. The agenda included panel discussions, workshops, training lectures, and mentorship programs for entrepreneurs in several Syrian cities, within a national framework supporting entrepreneurship and innovation.
This agenda is an official document demonstrating the scale of organization and attention given to the entrepreneurship sector, confirming that Idlib was part of this entrepreneurial movement.
As part of these activities, a workshop was held at the Cultural Center in Idlib city, covering fundamental concepts in entrepreneurship, such as idea development, teamwork, and transforming individual initiatives into sustainable projects.
This workshop was documented in a media post as one of the local activities linked to Global Entrepreneurship Week.
The workshop was attended by young people and students interested in entrepreneurship, reflecting the growing need for such activities in Idlib.
The importance of these events lies in providing real alternatives for youth to traditional employment opportunities, opening the door for small and medium projects capable of supporting the local economy. They also contribute to fostering initiative, building networks among entrepreneurs, trainers, and supporting organizations.
Amid the challenges facing Idlib, such activities represent an important step toward economically empowering youth and motivating them to innovate and engage in productive work.
