Aleppo Labbayk Campaign
The “Aleppo Labbayk” campaign, which includes seven Qatari organizations, provided training courses on livestock projects for local residents in the Jabal Al-Zawiya area of southern Idlib countryside. These courses aimed to promote the concept of starting and developing small projects. As a result of these courses, the campaign supported 64 livestock projects, including the rearing of cows, sheep, and chickens.
We spoke by phone with Mohammad Al-Mustafa, the official responsible for supporting livestock projects in the “Aleppo Labbayk” campaign. He is a 43-year-old veterinarian from the town of Marayan in Jabal Al-Zawiya. He said:
“We distributed around 17 cows, and funded 25 sheep projects, with 7 sheep per beneficiary. We also supported 22 chicken-raising projects. These projects are located in the villages of Basamis, Mash‘oon, and Abdita in Jabal Al-Zawiya.”
He added:
“We also built barns for cows, sheep, and chickens, installed solar panels and rechargeable batteries, and supplied the beneficiaries with fodder and vaccines for eight months. We provided 7-day training courses for all beneficiaries to explain the best methods of animal care, how to sustain the project, and how to make it profitable.”
