A Project with One Thousand Dollars
Some Syrians returning to their country have a small capital not exceeding one thousand dollars, and they start looking for a small project that can simultaneously provide them with an acceptable source of income.
Mostafa Masto, who was displaced in Lebanon, recently returned to Idlib city and decided to open a small grocery store with a capital of one thousand dollars.
Mostafa rented a shop on Al-Thalathin Street in Idlib for 50 dollars, carried out maintenance on the shop for 100 dollars, and purchased merchandise for 850 dollars. He told Syria TV: “The capital was not sufficient to fully stock the shelves, so I purchased the goods most demanded by customers. If my capital improves, I will gradually increase the merchandise in the store.”
Mostafa advised anyone wishing to open a shop to consider several factors: the location of the shop and the population density, avoiding proximity to other shops selling the same products, and diversifying the merchandise to meet customer demands. He emphasized that “if a customer repeatedly requests an item and cannot find it, they will go to another shop.”
